The past couple of weeks at work have been I.N.S.A.N.E. - Like beyond any kind of normal crazy. This time of year is always frantic/busy/stressful, but this year takes the cake...heck, the whole bakery even.
I've explained the 2 part family business before, but for those that don't know we have a graphics business (the part I work in), and a event equipment business. (that I help in the office with) We have two 4 man crews that we send out on jobs for the event part. Hubby is the foreman of one, and FIL is the foreman of the other. Last week we had 3 employees off my Hubby's crew not show up. No phone calls, no warning, zip, zilch, nada. (Who the crap does that!!) We were surprised, confused, and really annoyed. So we scrambled around, scraped up a couple of new guys, swapped around a couple of existing employees and managed to cover. This week? 3 guys off my FIL's crew didn't show up. *headdesk* One called in due to hangover, and the other two claimed car trouble. That was 3 days ago, and they still haven't made it in to work. So once again we did the mad scramble, and have barely managed to cover. We even had to recruit one of our neighbors. *facepalm*
Being short-handed right now really puts a huge burden on my Hubby, FIL and their guys. Everyone is tired, stressed, and grouchier than Oscar off of Sesame Street ever hoped to be. This has made for some interesting episodes of what I like to call "Lets act like redneck white trash and yell in public." Oh, yeah. There's been yelling. All up in the outdoors, and all up in front of other employees. Lots of yelling the loud funny words then apologizing, only to have more yelling later. Wheeee! :P
I'm just hoping we can survive the next week. If we can hang on with our fingernails through next week, we'll be ok. I told all remaining employees that they had better show up, or there was going to be some killin'.
angstchic told me she had some Anti-Monkey Butt Powder to give me. I asked if it could be delivered in 55 gallon drums. Cause we pretty much have a raging epidemic of the red a$$ going on over here. :P

In more positive, and less of the wanting to kill people news, I finally updated Captured Memories! Last time I added any icons was in March, so it was way overdue. I've also managed to crank out lots of icons lately, and I'm really hoping to get to work on a set for Summer and maybe 4th of July too.
I've also decided that my youngest baby dog has OCD. I poured a scoop of dog kibble into their bowl, which makes it form into a little pile with a peak on it. I notice her walk over to the bowl, study the little peak and systematically use her nose to press the kibble peak nice and flat. (hee) Once it suits her, she selects a few kibble and trots away to munch them on the carpet. I sneak over and make a peak with the kibble again to see what she'd do, and when she trots back, she does the nose thing again! *giggle* I have no idea how long she's been doing this, but I only noticed it a few weeks ago. They are just so darn cute with their little quirks.
